Turning the Day Around
Today was set up to be horrible. Neither boy slept well, and both woke up 3 hours early. I also went to bed on the late side. And the weather is foul. I was feeling sorry for myself, sluggish, and having trouble tackling the start of the day. I am fortunate to have a wonderful mother in law. She came over and spelled me off so I could have a bath (sometimes that's more recharging for me than a nap). She cuddled Olin and played with Breccan while I walked Ger and did some tidying. More than that, having her here was the cheer, company, and distraction I needed to turn the day around. Last week, we had another rough morning. We had to rush into town to see the doctor (everything was fine), transit wasn't cooperating, Breccan was sad to leave the park early, and Nick had to stay late at work. We snagged the car from Nick at work, picked up Ger from the house, went to the beach, then ordered pizza for dinner. Sometimes it's important to know when to call in help. Sometimes it takes just a little company or some beautiful scenery to take a day that's going to shit and turn it into a treasure.
