At my weekly yoga class, our instructor pointed out that it is both the summer solstice and the full moon on the same day this year. Supposedly, that indicates a double "changing of the seasons". Cycles or chapters coming to an end and the beginning of new ones. I thought it was an appropriate meditation for now since...We're moving! We bought a townhouse out in Steveston, an old fishing village part of Richmond, BC. While we've wanted to stay in the city, with 2 boys (one who is pretty rambunctious!), we are really in need of some more square footage. Steveston is our compromise suburb, since it has a village feel, is supremely walkable, and also something of a tourist destination.I would be lying to say I'm not nervous. Our friend network is very much in the city still. We will have to make new friends. We had a bad experience when we lived in New Westminster, and we both went through some depression episodes. I am hopeful that, with kids and the commitment of owning, we will push ourselves out of our comfort zones to make some new connections. I will be testing my emotion regulation skills and my mental health remission. I will report back!I should also have the ability to post some more lifestyle-type posts. We have the space to have parties, something I have sorely missed the last few years. I am excited to dive back into hosting, something I grew up doing and often use to flex my creative muscles.Exciting times in this upcoming season, and definitely some welcome changes.
