Today, my mom, Nick's mom, Nick's Grandpa (Papa), Breccan and I went out to Richmond to walk along the Dyke Trail and marina. The Dyke trail is a great starter trail and easy trail for toddlers. It is flat, easy to break into sections, and there is alwas lots of birds and wildlife to spot. It is a great place for kids to learn to ride their bikes. We lucked out and the weather was sunny and much warmer than it has been in a few weeks.I have been to Steveston many times, but something about today was just magical. Maybe it was the sun lowering over completely calm water. Maybe I'm getting more sentimental at the end of this pregnancy.
Breccan had a great time walking along the trail and seeing all the boats at the marina. He loved seeing the swans, who are regular (and well-fed) residents!
We ate at Kove Kitchen which has a lovely a view of the water. Their burgers were very tasty, and their gluten free bun was excellent. We tried to pick up some fresh-off-the-boat fish, but we were between prime sale hours.
We will definitely be going back this summer. I have a hankering to try sea urchins, and would love to have fish and chips (I've heard tell there are gluten-free options!) and ice cream.
